Vacation rental upsells: ideas guests actually buy
Updated 2026-10-16
Ten extras guests recognise and can pay for on their booking link, from late checkout to a cot.
An upsell works when the guest recognises the problem and can pay immediately. “Just ask us” is not an offer.
Ten that usually land
- Early check-in and late check-out, with a hard stop for the turnover.
- A cot, high chair or extra bed.
- Linen or towels if you do not include them.
- Firewood, oil or a stocked fridge.
- Breakfast on the first morning.
- A late-arrival pack: pasta, something to drink, breakfast for the next day.
- Bikes or a pass you can actually hand over.
- A pet fee as a clear price, not a surprise.
- A mid-stay clean on longer bookings.
- A welcome pack you mention in the guidebook and sell in the portal.
Use early and late checkout as the first test. The question shows up anyway. Practise with your own property in the free trial.
Questions on this topic
Which extras sell?
Ones that remove a specific hassle: getting in earlier, leaving later, a cot, firewood, breakfast on the first morning.
Should I turn on ten at once?
No. Start with two your operation can deliver. An offer you cannot keep costs more than it makes.
